Arnold Rubenstein, P.E. - VP/Director of ITS

Mr. Akhavan has more than 14 years of experience in construction projects including structural rehabilitation, concrete work , pile driving, sheeting, temporary lighting, resurfacing and paving, surveys, installation of Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) Station, Radar Detectors, CCTV Cameras, Microwaves and Communication Shelters. He also worked with the design team to design (ITS) Intelligent Transportation Systems for various projects. Mr. Akhavan has received various ITS Systems Training and has become an ITS Maintenance Specialist. He is currently managing Maintenance of ITS equipment for Region-11 in all 5 boroughs.

Omid Akhavan, EIT - Senior ITS Engineer

Ms. Wood has over ten years of Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) experience on a wide array of engineering design projects.  She has exhibited command of all aspects and areas of CADD applications for large scale engineering design projects, by having worked for leading consulting firms in Florida and New York.  Her excellent communication skills with proven verbal and writing skills have been recognized for successfully accomplishing goals and objectives of the design projects she has worked on.

Priscilla N. Wood - CAD Designer

Mr. Valenzuela is currently serving as a Systems Engineer specializing in networking, communications, and electrical engineering in the ITS group for M & J Engineers, P.C.  He has an extensive background in communications and networking and served over five years as a Network Management and Optical Network Specialists for Siemens.  Mr. Valenzuela has strong expertise in TCP/IP, SNMP, LINUX, ETHERNET, DWDM, SDH, and SONET.    He currently  assists Mr. Rubenstein on many of the firm’s front line ITS efforts including the Stamford Urban Transitway, Troop G TMC, and NYSDOT Region 11 System Support.  Mr. Valenzuela is currently serving a lead role in the NYSDOT Region 11 Fiber OPTIC field investigation for the Bronx HUBS that involves extensive field-testing of installed fiber optic installations involving hands-on OTDR testing with supervisory experience directing the efforts of two fiber optic technicians.  Work involves reverse engineering the installed fiber optic plant to determine precise splicing and fiber assignments for this complex ITS network.

Andres Valenzuela - Systems Engineer

Mr. Ahmed has over six years of diversified transportation engineering experience in the areas of Travel Demand Modeling & Forecasting, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). He has substantial transportation planning and traffic engineering capabilities including the deployment and use of GIS based applications for a wide array of planning and engineering tasks.  He is currently assisting in the development of Concept of Operations documents and is a major contributor to the TAMS ITS efforts of the firm.

Rizwan Ahmed - Transportation Engineer

Mr. Cosmanescu has over 20 years experience in general civil engineering.  He has performed a broad range of design tasks of increasing complexity and responsibility.  The scope of his work ranges from project planning, preliminary study reports to final design drawings, specifications, estimates and bid documents.  Types of projects include: traffic studies, transportation facilities, parking lot design, street and highway design, residential subdivision, mixed use developments, storm water management, soil erosion control and bridge inspections.  Mr. Cosmanescu has developed plans for ITS and Traffic Control equipment.

Mr. Amin has 7+ years of experience as a civil engineer with a unique combination of education and experience in Civil / Structural Engineering and Construction Management. His experience includes: Power Plant Design – 44,000 Tons of Structural Steel, design and analysis of steel / concrete structures, engineering calculations for steel connections, coordination of pipe supports and structural support members, preparation of steel fabrication drawings, maintaining project files and records, and preparing project correspondence; Stadium Design - 5,000 Tons of Structural Steel, prepared steel fabrication drawings, engineering calculations for steel connections, led the RFI / Submittal / Transmittal Process, maintained project files and records, and prepared project correspondence; Building Design – 6,200 Tons of Structural Steel, prepared steel fabrication drawings, engineering calculations for steel connections, led the RFI / Submittal / Transmittal Process, maintained project files and records, and prepared project correspondence. He is familiar with ACI, AISC, AASHTO, AREA, and NYSDOT & NJDOT Specifications.
